No period. The first month or so I was very bloated and crampy. I feel nauseous all the dang time. I followed the exact instructions by starting the pill on the first Sunday of starting my period (my period began on a Sunday) and didn't have unprotected sex until the after the 7 days. Hopefully this impression stays the same for me for the next 2 years.The insertion and afterwards was extremely painful but pain meds and not moving from bed made it manageable. My anxiety seems back to the way it was before any type of BC and I’m pretty pleased. I went with Skyla because I am pretty sensitive to estrogen based birth controls, and every pill I tried made my anxiety/depression unbearable. I also was getting bad acne the first 4 months but that seems to have subsided. Everyone is different but definitely need to let your body adjust.
The positive side is it is very effective and besides cramping and bleeding I have had ZERO side effects. Thinking about something to the non hormonal IUD, but worried about the acne.I have not had really any problems. side effects include:
