The disposition of Sulindac was studied in end-stage renal disease patients requiring hemodialysis. Sulindac is excreted in rat milk; concentrations in milk were 10 to 20% of those levels in plasma. Patients at greatest risk of this reaction are those with impaired renal function, heart failure, liver dysfunction, those taking diuretics and ACE inhibitors, patients who are volume-depleted, and the elderly. Plasma protein binding measured over a concentration range (0.5-2.0 µg/mL) was constant.
Sulindac oral tablet is used for short-term treatment when used for shoulder pain or gouty arthritis.
