There was definitely prolonged & frequent periods at first, but it settled down and now I only bleed very rarely. Once I'm done making babies I'm signing right back up for it.

I brought up my desire for a long-acting birth control method with my nurse practitioner and she laid out my options. There is a chance that there will be complications with the insertion. I just requested the implant. Haven't had a single issue. I did have a couple sporadic periods within the first few months but did not have any severe side effects. Got it inserted in January.
