Well, yesterday was my first dose of abilify 10mg at bedtime.
It did cause me to gain weight however and doesn't work as good as the Geodon did in some aspects but works better in others. Do not break, crush, or chew them. Either way I don’t think it makes much of a difference when I take it.To answer more seriously, take it when you wanna save the world cuz it’s the best I’m so horribly selfish! Luckily, Abilify is a medication that you can take without eating food, so you don't to worry about going to sleep with a full stomach. It should melt quickly. If I take it at night, I get to sleep through the down time I get after taking it. Given that its for an overactive bladder, I'd try to take the pill with some liquids that I was going to drink anyway(OJ with breakfast/etc). Morning was best for me.Just got a text from pdoc, he said morning/afternoon is best and I might experience decreased sleep.But I’ve not experienced any sleep problems while taking it at nightWell it gave me akathisia which can definitely keep you up…so probably better to take it during the morning.
ask your doc to give you some medication in morning for negative.10mg should be less sedating and more activating. I seem to get different results depending on what time of day I take abilify.
So I guess bedtime would be a better option for me for now. Few years ago, when i used to take 15mg at bedtime, i used to sleep and become tired till 4pm the next day. Doctors operate under the guidelines that it takes 5 half-lives for any drug to be completely out of the system. I'll take it at midday from now on and see what happen… So I guess bedtime would be a better option for me for now. You should however drink at least one full glass of water when you take it though because Abilify can easily dehydrate your body.
Abilify … I’ve always taken abilify in morning. Similarly, the change to 10mg only gradually made me more active in general. It can be taken at any time of day. I mean its not like the tiredness will wear off or anything like that. Follow your doctor's instructions on how to use the medicine. What time do you take abilify? Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label.
